A new found love of a classic treat

I have found a new love of an old classic treat. I have found that cooking marshmallows over a stove is the same as cooking them in a campfire. I have had people tell me that it is the same i was doubtful until I tried it last night. We didn't stay for the campfire Friday night and the kids were bummed out and I had all the smore stuff anyway. I put dawson down to bed I let the other kids stay up and we tried it. It is so yummy. It is just like a campfire and there was no smoke involved. I turned the burner oh high. I had some skewers sticks that I put them on and we roasted away. I do have to say that I think that earned me points as the coolest mom last night. The kids were totally surprised when I told them what we were doing.
They turned out perfect crisp on the outside and a big gooey mess on the inside. It was a fun spontaneous activity that we did. I highly recommend it. So now I can have the goodness of a roasted marshmallow and not the mess of a campfire. Try it and let me know how you like it.

The kids really were having fun
Good camouflage Jen

Well once again I did it. Went camping with the kids and no david. We missed David greatly but it is nice to say we did it.
It was our ward camp on Thursday until Saturday. After Brooklyn got done with school we headed up to camp. We set up, then had a potluck dinner, and a campfire. The kids were so tired that they went to sleep easy After they were asleep I played games in my friends tent. It was nice to just relax and play.

Then of course bright and early the kids were up around 6:30 am. We played and played all morning. The kids had so much fun with there friends. I felt like I hardly had them by me since they were off playing. Dawson was another story. He had a little fever off and on on Friday. He was also very tired so he was a little fussy when I would try to put him down. He finally took a nap then he was better.

While Dawson took a nap I took Brooklyn and Landon down to the beach. It was a little rough conditions but the kids had fun playing on the sand.
I decided to go home Friday night. I didn't think we would be speaking to each other if I stayed another night so I decided to leave while I felt ahead of my game. So I packed things up the kids kept on playing. Then we had another potluck with some very yummy food. Then we called it a night and headed home. It was a fun time.
Thanks to everyone that helped me set up my stuff and helped with the kids. Thank you to the one person that Dawson would not cry for. It was a nice break to hear him not cry when I walked away I don't want to start saying names because then I will forget. Thanks to the ward for setting up a fun camp it was a good time. It was so fun to get away and just enjoy. Maybe David come with us next year. Enjoy the pictures.

Cutest kindergartner out there

Cutest kindergartner

Here she is the newest and cutest kindergatrner out there. It is offical brooklyn has started school. I feel so old to say that my oldest is in kindergarten. She had a half day on thursday and she had a full day on friday and she will now be in school for the next 15 years or so. Brooklyn say hello to the rest of your life.

During the week at school she has to wear a uniform. It consists of a school t-shirt. They have them in the school colors. Grey, black or a yummy gold color. They can wear whatever they want for the bottoms. So she picked out grey to wear that day with a denism skirt of course. They have to wear the shirts monday thru thursday.

Looking good all ready for school

Her teachers name is Miss Toegucci. I am sure that is not the correct spelling but it is easy for me to say it that way it is spelled. I think she will be good for brookkyn. Brooklyn seems to really like her I know it has only been two days. She seems to be more on the creative side of things. She does songs and dance and puppets almost every day with the kids. She knows magic tricks. Brooklyn was excited when I told her that.

All ready for school

I take her in the morning and then she is going to ride the bus home. The bus stop is right outside our backyard. Well go out our gate and walk about 10 steps and you are there. Dawson still takes naps so I told her she could ride the bus home. I really didnt want to have to wake dawson up just to pick her up. So school gets out at 2:05 and the bus drops her off at 2:25.

Getting off the bus

Even though they have uniforms I had to do a little school shopping. So I got her a few new outfits to wear on fridays. She has been so excited to start school and she seems so happy when she gets home. I hpoe she has a great experience with school. I missed her incredibly on thursday and friday. She goes all day 7:55-2:05. I know she is in good hands though.

I hope she keeps loving school and having a good time. So now it begins the chaos of a kid in school. Bring on the homeowrk and all the other fun activities.

Every girl needs some papmering

Well on Monday I had the chance to take just Brooklyn out for a girls morning. Thanks shirlyn for watching the boys. I wanted to get Brooklyn's hair trimmed and she wanted to get her nails painted. So we set out to get her hair trimmed. It was a cute place called pigtails and crew cuts. They did a cute job. All it was was a trim.
Then Brooklyn was in heaven when she said she wanted her nails painted. So we went to a salon. She asked if she could get her toes painted I said sure. How can I turn her down when she wants a good nail polish on the toes??

She was all excited to sit up in the pedicure chair. When the lady asked if she wanted flowers on her toes. She said no I want diamonds on my toes. What are you to do a girl wants diamonds give her some diamonds. She was in heaven as she watched the lady put diamonds on her toes. I wonder were she gets that from?? It couldn't be me and my love for pedicures and diamonds. I will have to watch out for her.

At the end I told her that after a day of pampering you should always get a treat. Really I just wanted a reason to have some chocolate. She said I just want a jamba juice. Which I love and obviously the better choice. I will have to work on the treating yourself after a girls day.

Now she is ready for kindergarten form her hair to her toes.
