New York City

I am truly in love with new york. I have never been there before and we went a few weekends ago and it was amazing. We did and saw so much in the one day we were there I cant wait to go back. We woke the kids up super early and drove up there. It is about a three hour drive. David went to new york on his mission so he knew the ins and outs. We drove around on Staten island for a few minutes. We saw a place David used to live. We parked at the Staten island ferry and took the ferry over. It was neat to see the statue of liberty and to see all the buildings as you are approaching the city.
Our first stop was the WTC memorial and museum. I didn't really know what to expect when we got there. It was the neatest and most touching thing to see. In the museum they had a video of all the rubble, some scenes form the attacks, and video of the clean up. They had some different items displayed like some steel from the rubble, WTC business cards, Keys that had WTC stamped on them like they were file cabinet keys, a firefighters jacket with all the dust on it, and some other things. They have a room that is wallpapered with peoples pictures that died and there is a wall with peoples missing ads. There is a part that has an area were you can write down your thoughts about 9/11. They have a book made of peoples comments, thoughts, words of encouragement and support. Brooklyn wrote a little note on a piece of paper. It was sweet. Then we went into the reflecting pools. It is amazing to me that in this great big city there is a spot that is so somber and quiet but filled with allot of people.
We then headed for some New York Pizza. It was so good there really is a difference in pizza and New York pizza. It was like heaven on a plate. Then we headed the subway and went to times square. I could have stayed there forever. It was awesome. The shops, the people, just the atmosphere. I could have people watched for ever.
Then we walked to the NBC studios, Rockefeller center, were the today show is, walked along fashion avenue, and made it to central park. We walked around there then we took the kids to fao schwartz. That store is so cool. So many toys and candy. The kids each got a toy and we headed back to the subway, then on the ferry and back to our car. It was a great day. The kids did walking most of the time. They did awesome. It was such a great family day. I cant wait to go back and see more.
One of the greatest moments of the day was the kids fell asleep with in minutes of getting back on the road. So it was a whole three hour drive back UN interrupted just me and David talking. It was a great day.
