The kids really were having fun
Good camouflage Jen

Well once again I did it. Went camping with the kids and no david. We missed David greatly but it is nice to say we did it.
It was our ward camp on Thursday until Saturday. After Brooklyn got done with school we headed up to camp. We set up, then had a potluck dinner, and a campfire. The kids were so tired that they went to sleep easy After they were asleep I played games in my friends tent. It was nice to just relax and play.

Then of course bright and early the kids were up around 6:30 am. We played and played all morning. The kids had so much fun with there friends. I felt like I hardly had them by me since they were off playing. Dawson was another story. He had a little fever off and on on Friday. He was also very tired so he was a little fussy when I would try to put him down. He finally took a nap then he was better.

While Dawson took a nap I took Brooklyn and Landon down to the beach. It was a little rough conditions but the kids had fun playing on the sand.
I decided to go home Friday night. I didn't think we would be speaking to each other if I stayed another night so I decided to leave while I felt ahead of my game. So I packed things up the kids kept on playing. Then we had another potluck with some very yummy food. Then we called it a night and headed home. It was a fun time.
Thanks to everyone that helped me set up my stuff and helped with the kids. Thank you to the one person that Dawson would not cry for. It was a nice break to hear him not cry when I walked away I don't want to start saying names because then I will forget. Thanks to the ward for setting up a fun camp it was a good time. It was so fun to get away and just enjoy. Maybe David come with us next year. Enjoy the pictures.

Cutest kindergartner out there

Cutest kindergartner

Here she is the newest and cutest kindergatrner out there. It is offical brooklyn has started school. I feel so old to say that my oldest is in kindergarten. She had a half day on thursday and she had a full day on friday and she will now be in school for the next 15 years or so. Brooklyn say hello to the rest of your life.

During the week at school she has to wear a uniform. It consists of a school t-shirt. They have them in the school colors. Grey, black or a yummy gold color. They can wear whatever they want for the bottoms. So she picked out grey to wear that day with a denism skirt of course. They have to wear the shirts monday thru thursday.

Looking good all ready for school

Her teachers name is Miss Toegucci. I am sure that is not the correct spelling but it is easy for me to say it that way it is spelled. I think she will be good for brookkyn. Brooklyn seems to really like her I know it has only been two days. She seems to be more on the creative side of things. She does songs and dance and puppets almost every day with the kids. She knows magic tricks. Brooklyn was excited when I told her that.

All ready for school

I take her in the morning and then she is going to ride the bus home. The bus stop is right outside our backyard. Well go out our gate and walk about 10 steps and you are there. Dawson still takes naps so I told her she could ride the bus home. I really didnt want to have to wake dawson up just to pick her up. So school gets out at 2:05 and the bus drops her off at 2:25.

Getting off the bus

Even though they have uniforms I had to do a little school shopping. So I got her a few new outfits to wear on fridays. She has been so excited to start school and she seems so happy when she gets home. I hpoe she has a great experience with school. I missed her incredibly on thursday and friday. She goes all day 7:55-2:05. I know she is in good hands though.

I hope she keeps loving school and having a good time. So now it begins the chaos of a kid in school. Bring on the homeowrk and all the other fun activities.

Every girl needs some papmering

Well on Monday I had the chance to take just Brooklyn out for a girls morning. Thanks shirlyn for watching the boys. I wanted to get Brooklyn's hair trimmed and she wanted to get her nails painted. So we set out to get her hair trimmed. It was a cute place called pigtails and crew cuts. They did a cute job. All it was was a trim.
Then Brooklyn was in heaven when she said she wanted her nails painted. So we went to a salon. She asked if she could get her toes painted I said sure. How can I turn her down when she wants a good nail polish on the toes??

She was all excited to sit up in the pedicure chair. When the lady asked if she wanted flowers on her toes. She said no I want diamonds on my toes. What are you to do a girl wants diamonds give her some diamonds. She was in heaven as she watched the lady put diamonds on her toes. I wonder were she gets that from?? It couldn't be me and my love for pedicures and diamonds. I will have to watch out for her.

At the end I told her that after a day of pampering you should always get a treat. Really I just wanted a reason to have some chocolate. She said I just want a jamba juice. Which I love and obviously the better choice. I will have to work on the treating yourself after a girls day.

Now she is ready for kindergarten form her hair to her toes.

A princess finds her frog and the carwash

Well our little Brooklyn is a little princess but show her some animals she can touch and pick up and she is all over it. The other day our neighbor found a frog. Imagine Brooklyn's excitement. She was following the boy with the frog all over asking if she could hold it. He was surprised to see that a girl wanted to hold the frog.
She was having a ball just holding the frog and walking all over with it. I told her to kiss the frog and see if it turns into a prince. She said eww gross no.

Where's the Prince???

It has been really hot here lately. So today I decided I would let the kids wash the car and they could play in the water. I sure love having a clean car. I even took the carpets out and vacuumed everything. I was really excited to use the power washer to it. So the car got clean and the kids had a great time. It was a great day!

Dear KIddos-

Brooklyn, Landon and Dawson, dad left again today from anywhere to three to four months. we have not been home together very long since is last trip. Ever since we told dad was going to have to go back out you have taken it so well.. The last two times dad has gone out we have gone to grandmas but it is time to hunker down and stay here. It was so much fun to go to grandmas the last two times. It is time to stay here and do our own things.

Brooklyn you will start school soon and I know it is killing your dad to know that he wont be here to share that with you. He thinks school is so important and wants to much for you to do well and have a great experience with it. You will also have your birthday. I cant believe you will be five.

Landon it will be an adjustment for you to have Brooklyn gone at school all day. You will be the oldest one at home during the day. Dawson you are just loving life everyday and getting into every thing I put away.

Today as dad was giving us the blessings Brooklyn you said this is the part were dad gives us each a blessing and mommy cries. As I was having a melt down you came right over to me and gave me a hug. You are so sweet.

My point in writing you all this letter is to tell you thank you. Thank you for being so good today and taking this new absence of dad away well. (I know it hasnt even been a full day yet) Your attitudes are different this time. I hope you know that I will do my best to make sure you are getting all that you need and that you are being taken care of. I am going to do my best to make sure that I am giving each day 110%. It kills me to have your dad underway. I love him more then anything. He is such a rock for me. Thank you guys for being such great kids and taking this journey with me as we figure things out and experience good and bad days together.

I love you kids and know that it many years from now as you are reading this know that I tried my best. I want to make the next few months a positive experience for you. So here is to what lies ahead the next 3-4 months. I know it may not seem like along time for many people or years from now it wont be that big of a deal but for me this is a new experience.

Thank you for being so resilient to what is going on. I know that your attitude today and since we told you dad was leaving for a while has really helped me so thank you for helping me today more then you kids will ever know. I feel like the tone has been set for the next little while and thank you

SteamBoat Springs

What a great place steamboat springs. My family took a vacation there while we were in utah. Now I have not been on a famiy vacation since 2003. A few months after we got married my family went to newport beach. That was the last family vacation I was around to go on.

I went to steamnboat springs when I was in hight shcool. I went with my sister and her friend a few weeks before she was married. I didnt remmebr to much about it other then the hot pools. There is good biking which my dad found all the good trails, there is hiking, an alpine slide, and lots of fun outdoor stuff. The one thing I ws excited for was fishing. I thought if my kids could catch a fish on there own poles that would be awesome.

Well my dad found a pond that we went to. All the cousins had there character fising poles. Landon picked out a spiderman fishing pole and brooklyn picked out a barbie fishing pole. Well the fish did not disappoint. The kids cauhgt a fish on there own poles both times that we went fishing. They thought it was so much fun. Well landon didnt like seeing the fish guts and blood. He got a little sad at that point.

Landon and his fish

Brooklyn and her fish

The place we stayed out had some pool and hot tobs. The first day we were there we got settled in. The two condos were across the hall from each other so half of us were in one condo the other half was in the other. Me nd the kids were in the condo with millie and bodie. The kids thought it was great to run up and down the hall. Dawson loved to try and escape out. After getting settled in we went to the indoor pool since it was a little rainy. After we went to the hot pools which were heavenly. Especially after Bodie found out there was a kiddie pool of a sort that had a huge crab you could climb on and slide down. It was fun.

The second day we got the kids fishing gear waited for the rain to clear and we went fishing. The third day we went swimming at the outdoor pool then we went to the alpine slide. Now since I was abviously out numbered on this activiyt, My mom watched dawson. I took brooklyn with me and millie took landon with her. Thanks for the help. The kids loved it.

My extra set of hands

It was fun to hang out with the family in such a fun place. The kids had a good time. It was just nice to be in a different setting with them. Thanks for all the help with the kids since I was out numbered.

Vacation

Summer Summer Time

Well vacation came and went. we are back home now. I do have to say that my kids were awesome on the day of traveling back. It started at 3:00 am hawaii time and didnt end untlo about 8:30 pm hawaii time. They did so good. i am so proud of them.

Our vacation was such a good time. It was filled with cafe Rio salads, treat Wednesdays(that is something my sisters started, they meet every Wednesday at Leslie's house for treat Wednesday), visiting family, cousin sleepovers, swimming, st George, a family trip to steamboat springs(it's own post coming soon),missing daddy, shopping, Thai pan, Robbert's, cheesecake factory, girls nights, getting my hair done, lagoon, the zoo, thanksgiving point, staying up way to late, enjoying the summer and just having fun.

The kids got really sick the first two weeks so that threw me off a little. It was such a good time I am sorry to all the Friends we didn't get to see. Know that I really meant to call you. Thanks to everyone who made it such a great trip, helping with the kids, letting us come visit and feeding us yummy food. The kids had a great time. Thanks for the fun.
